It is one of those choices that precedes the birth of a child-

Clothe or Disposable.

Like all other choices that have to be made while in the condition of ‘being with child’ this one can fuel quiet a debate between generations.

In my heart of hearts I had every intention of using clothe nappies from the get go.. and I have over two dozen (very clean) nappies in my cupboard to prove it! It was never an issue of washing, for that i was prepared. My issues lay in the folding, fitting and function of these terry toweling terrors! AHhhhh...
I can’t tell you how many stretchy clips were flung across the room in the wee hours (pardon the pun) or the countless naked butts and drenches beds I awoke to when the nappy filled up and stayed in the one spot, while my bub wriggled right out the top! Although these make for excellent 21st memories and scrapbooking gems, finally, out came the disposables.

So when my sister in law voiced the same cries of wanting to use cloth nappies I did a little digging on the web.. a whole new world of hybid cloth nappies opened up.. they look like cloth but in fantastic fabrics and more useful material then old terry toweling! No more tricky contraptions, and so easy even my brother finds it a breeze!

Now my only trouble is .. they are sooo popular , they’re sold out!

Cheers Gayle.

There is nothing like the texture and look of a handmade scrapbooking page.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the excitement and instant fulfillment of digital scraping, but when you look back over the albums there is just a little something more satisfying perusing your handmade ones.

Most of us these days are quite time poor, family and work seem to take most of our time and lets face it if your a mum like me, I always feel a touch guilty taking too much time out on ‘me’ activities.

For a while after my son was born I filled little photo books with digital pages you just ‘plop’ your photos into. What a great timesaving idea!

About a month ago now I have started making my own ‘ploppers’ of the hand made kind.. different designs or a whole matching album I am ready to tackle it! I even devoted a section in my shopping cart for returning customers!
Check it out : HERE

Gayle.

It has been a while since my last Blog, building and keeping up with the Scrapbooking Store has been quite the challenge. However, this I believe is worth the time to share with you all...

Last Tuesday the 18th, Mikaylah's daycare (ABC BRACKENRIDGE) had a wonderful day they nicknamed 'RED DAY'!
They had previously registered for 'Cuppa for Kids' and invited parents to stay for a cuppa and morning tea!
The Children were encouraged to wear red, and make a gold coin donation. The staff all came along with a plate to share. In the morning the preschool group sat down and talked about 'heart kids' and helping each other out!
Then shared some fun RED activities, facepainting & painting among others!
Not only was this a great opportunity to grow awareness for the foundation in the community of parents. But it was a lovely to watch the next generation learning about the 'fun' in fun-draising.

Mikaylah had a great time too, and is just at the age of becoming aware of being 'different' to other kids. RED DAY got all the children involved in a positive way, and Mikaylah told me 'she wanted to go to kindy for red day to help other babies get better like her, when she was born!'

Special Thanks to Miss Bron and Miss Sarah- and Sue (Director) and to all the staff for getting behind the day!

Cheers, Gayle.

This morning we celebrated mums birthday with a delightful ritual called high tea!

I must admit I have taken high tea many times and relish in such a girly event.
Prior to the event I purchased a balloon centre piece in my mums favorite colour and from this the invitations and place cards were created.

We gathered at a small coffee shop in Sandgate, where
the staff wove their magic. We entered our own
little sanctuary of the tea room for a few hours. It was
relaxing to sit and sip teas, some of which I never
knew existed, to chat and feast on the fabulous delicious treats before us.

The staff were attentive and provided extraordinary service!

Everyone expressed the same sentiments, and commented on their enjoyment of the whole event! A handmade invitation and a little imagination, (and someone to do the catering), all added up to a little hArty magic for everyone!

gAyle
